This miniature by James Holmes is dated 1842. Little is known of this officer. He may have been a relative of Lorenzo Moore (1744 - 98), soldier and MP, from an Anglo-Irish family, County Wexford. The sitter wears the dress uniform of the Bengal Light Cavalry with a shako showing the badge worn from 1835.
