This illustrated belt plate from Parkyn’s book is dated 1822 to 1829, presumably all gilt once more. The reverse GR cypher of George IV is large in the centre with the Sphinx below. The four battle honours surround it and on the outside is the title THE ROYAL REGT. and the motto. The outer circle is the collar of the Order of the Thistle which became a feature of Royal Scots badges. A star pendant is at the base of the plate.
