Robert Frith was commissioned as a cornet in 1771, lieutenant in 1776 and captain in February 1781. In February 1784 he was commanding an independent Troop of cavalry which escorted Warren Hastings to Lucknow. By 1791 he was a major, and in 1798 lieutenant-colonel. He died in 1800.
