The front view of the regimental drumhorse Old Bob shows the design on the front of the kettle drums, which differs from the drums seen uncovered in the 1887 photo. Without the drum banners the strapping needed to hold the drums on the horse, can be seen. This photo, published in 1898, shows the band dog which unfortunately is not named in the caption.
